San Francisco is arguably my favorite city. Something about the cool summers and moody coastal weather makes me happy… probably that I can wear layers pretty much all year when I’m in the Bay. This same weather also provides layers in photos captured in the Bay, helping to emphasize the depth of the city and the outlying area.
The Financial District is probably my favorite spot to take pictures if only just for the architecture and skyscrapers. Growing up in the woods, these vertical urban landscapes fascinate me with how they scatter light and cast shadows, forests of metal and glass. People watching with the contrasts in styles and professions only furthers my enjoyment of the area. A quick trip out to Berkeley always adds a bit of character as well, along with oddly reminding me of India at times.
